A journey through time

The exhibition Tidsvalvet at Nordiska museet is an immersive and interactive journey through children’s everyday life in Sweden from the 1870s to today. When we developed the graphic profile, including the Tidsvalvet logo, we aimed for a playful yet historically correct design language inspired by time travel, memory, and storytelling. The visual identity combines bold typography, glowing portal-like imagery, and layered historical references, helping visitors move seamlessly between different time periods.

Tidsvalvet has been very well received by both audiences and critics. The exhibition won the prestigious Swedish awards “Exhibition of the Year 2020” and “Goldmine of the Year 2020.” Jury members praised it as “an immersive and interactive cosmos” that takes children, fantasy, and cultural history seriously.
